Do you face “writer’s block” sometimes when you want to write blog post or “crafter’s block” when you want to create a card? I sure do! However, I’ve discovered that the year is actually filled with Fun and Obscure Holidays! After doing my research, I now have a year’s worth of ideas for cards and blog posts and blog challenges!
For example, did you know:
- January 24 is National Compliment Day
- April 25 is Hair Stylist Appreciation Day
- August 15 is Best Friend’s Day
- October 4 is World Card Making Day
I have created a printable calendar listing hundreds of holidays ranging from well known to very obscure.
I swear I did not make any of these up! There really is a Bacon Day (December 30).
I’m not 100% sure who celebrates all these days, but what a great excuse to send a card and a fun way to liven up the year.
Here are some suggestions of how YOU can use my calendar:
- Increase traffic to your blog by offering ideas for fun craft challenges
- Add a contest to your Facebook page asking your followers to submit their creative ideas on each holiday
- Use the holidays to make treats for your children’s preschool
- Attract more blog subscribers by offering creative ideas for moms or home schoolers
- Make a unique scrapbook of 2014 Fun Holidays (here is the whole family on Toasted Marshmellow Day)
- Create a monthly challenge for your club or team meetings
- Get fresh and innovative ideas for your craft swaps
- Discover inspiration for Random Acts of Kindness
