Today, the weatherman promised that Phoenix is through with the triple digits until next summer. 95 degrees is fall weather for us! I’ll take it! I’m still keeping myself in the true autumn mood by making cards with fall leaves.
The stamps in the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set are so cute, but I sometimes forget to use them. Today I was thinking that tiny leaves on the Woodlands Textured Embossing folder would be so pretty. And then I thought of the calendar stamps!
A bit of sponging with a dauber makes the trees really pop.
Be sure to do your leaf stamping first. The leaves will come out bumpy if you try to stamp after you use the embossing folder.
TIP:
Before I started stamping, I positioned the cardstock in the folder and made tiny pencil marks to approximately figure out where to stamp. I wanted my leaves to be close to the horizontal branches and be in between the trunks (to some extent).
Supplies I used:
- Cajun Craze ink for the leaves
- Soft Suede ink for sponging on the trees
- Memento Black ink for the sentiment
- Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder #139673
- Perpetual Birthday Calendar Photopolymer Stamp Set #137167
- Cardstock is Very Vanilla, Soft Suede and Cajun Craze
- My Happy Thanksgiving is an exclusive stamp from a past Paper Pumpkin kit
I think my next project with these stamps is to see how the snowflakes look falling between the branches. Look how cute the stamps are in this set:
