My friend and fellow weStamp teammate, Linda Rodenberg invited me to play along with the Creative Blog Hop…which features Stampin’ Up! projects by an ongoing list of SU demos & friends. Be sure to read all the way to the end to see the next blogs in the list to visit when they make their cards next Monday!
My card was inspired by the December Paper Pumpkin – All Shook Up. I used leftover confetti and one of the window sheet ensembles. While I loved the Paper Pumpkin cards “as is”, I so wanted to play with my Occasions & Sale-A-Bration pre-order goodies. The balloons in the new Celebrate Today stamp set seemed perfect for a shaker card.
I used one of the beautiful new Sale-A-Bration papers from the Best Year Ever Designer Series Papers. Fun!
Here are the other cards I made as I worked my way to the final transformation. I really enjoyed playing with the December Paper Pumpkin kit.
As we hop through the blogs, we all answer a set of four questions. Here goes!
What are you working on?
I am working on making swaps for some upcoming events including my first-ever trip to Leadership in Orlando later this month. I am still waiting for the creative spark for what to make. I hope it sparks soon! The end of January will be here before I know it!
How does your work differ from others in your genre?
I love My Digital Studio so I will often create a “hybrid” card that uses some digital elements along with some “real” elements.
Why do you create what you do?
I love to create something with paper because I spend all my working hours on a computer making websites and blogs. Stamping gets me away from the computer (well, unless I’m using My Digital Studio). Even if I am using MDS, I’m using a different part of my brain! At any rate, I just love creating cards and other projects.
How does your creativity process work?
A lot of times I have Stamper’s Block, which is like Writer’s Block…where I just sit there staring at a stamp set trying to remember why I wanted it so badly! After a few minutes of wondering what on earth to do with it, I ask my best friend, Google. Google never lets me down! Once I see some ideas, I figure out how to modify the idea according to the supplies I have. Finally, I almost always need to cover up some sort of OOOPS, which is why you might see a giant star or balloons layered on each other, or a strategically placed sequin!
This was really fun to be invited into the Blog Hop. Once again, thank you Linda for inviting me. Linda is such a talented stamper. I love the swap cards I receive from her! I actually had a chance to peek into Linda’s craft room one evening. Her studio is just as lovely as her cards. I encourage you to visit Linda’s blog – Pretty Inky
Now it’s my turn to pick two fellow demonstrators for you to visit next Monday as we continue hopping around the internets 🙂
Donna Kish is another fellow weStamper and her blog is Donna’s Stamps Well with Others. Donna’s blog is packed full of incredibly creative ideas and great stamping tips. She has an eye for putting things together and her cards are so cute. Sometimes I look at her cards and just wonder what IS it like to be as creative as she is. Sigh. Ah well, at least I get to collect swap cards from her! Browse through Donna’s blog while you await her post for next Monday’s blog hop. Keep looking till you find one of her four legged stamping assistants. Her helpers make sure cardstock doesn’t blow off the craft table, lol
My second nomination is my good friend Billie Moan from Rambling Rose Studio. I met Billie and we became instant friends. Billie’s projects are works of art. Seriously! She is doing things with Sheltering Tree that you won’t believe. Billie and I will be rooming together at Convention and I’m hoping some of Billie’s creative dust rubs off on me. I bet it’s glittery. Go watch some of her stamping videos and be prepared to learn something and giggle at her cute ways. You will never ever guess that she’s from the South 🙂
If I were you, I’d be sure to subscribe to the blogs so that you never miss a future post from these three talented stampers. Once you see some of their projects, you will want to be notified each time they post a new project!
