At Convention, it is a sweet tradition to make pillow gifts for your roommates. I usually draw a blank when it comes to a clever idea, but this year…inspiration hit! When I was looking at our in-color flower buttons, I thought these could be such cute push pins! And then my idea was born!
I used 12×12 cork tiles from the office supply section at Wal-Mart. Now I needed mine to fit in small boxes to keep them protected in my luggage, so I used an exact-o knife to cut them to size.
One layer of cork is a bit too thin and the pins will poke out the back. So I glued two pieces together with hot glue, sandwiching the Watermelon Wonder lace ribbon between the layers first.
I used E6000 glue to adhere the flower buttons to the push pins.
I punched out some coordinating flowers, hot glued them to the cork.
This would make an fun hostess gift. The supplies are quite economical. You can get four boards from one pack of tiles, one pack of buttons, and one spool of ribbon.
